Fieldnotes

Today is full of flash flooding and heavy rainstorms, which led me to lean into blue hues. A few observations from this second practice:

  1. I don’t need to use so much paint!

  2. I looked forward to this activity and used it as a tool to break up required reading for another class. It refreshed my mind and gave me energy before returning to my reading.

  3. When I lifted the paper, a small air bubble popped and created a hole in the center of the “forehead” which I found an interesting detail.

My Interpretation

When I opened the page, I so clearly saw a face it almost felt intentional. I can easily point out the eyes, nose, moustache, mouth, and chin of a man. To get more specific, I see a pirate wearing a tight bandana around his forehead with hair flowing out from both sides. I also see a version of Zeus - God of the sky - with powerful, hollow eyes.
